Harlan F. Thompson, 69, Grand Forks, ND died Tuesday, Dec 6th, 2011 in his home due to respiratory failure.

Harlan Faye Thompson was born January 5th 1942 in Thompson ND, the 1st of five children to Frank and Serine (Ritland) Thompson. He graduated from Central high school, class of 1959. He then went onto North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.

Harlan was united into marriage to Sharon Montgomery of Inkster, ND on Dec. 29th, 1961 in Sisseton, SD. Together they were blessed with two sons Jeff (Amber), Nampa, ID and Jay, Aetesia, CA.

He was a grain and potato farmer in the Reynolds area for many years. He later had a large snow removal business and owned a landscaping business known as "The Yard Builders". He was a great cook and loved to garden as well. He once had a garden that covered nearly 10 acres. Harlan was the cook at the mission for a time also. Everyone loved all those great meals. People also loved his pickled beets.

Harlan enjoyed a good game of smear and visiting. He could always talk your ear off. Every night he would make a call to his sister Carol to share his daily events. She will really miss those calls.

Harlan is survived by his son, Jay, Aetesia, CA; daughter in-law, Amber Thompson; step grandchildren, Talon and Kaylene, Nampa ID; three Sisters, Carol (Sheldon) Skavlem, Thompson, ND, Adele McElroy, Anchorge AK and Sherryl Kvamme (Dan), Grand Forks, ND; brother, Kevin Thompson, Thompson ND; aunt, Marcy (Jim) Bubb, Alvarado, MN; many nieces and nephews; longtime friend, Lois Melland and her family Manvel ND. He especially enjoyed Jodi Jorde and her sons, Lionel and Bobby.


Jean A. Thompson Bina
, 68, Grand Forks, died Monday, March 16, 2009, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Jean Anne Thompson was born to Russell H. and Valborg "Vee" (Johnson) Thompson on January 30, 1941 in Grand Forks. She attended school in Grand Forks and Long Beach, CA, and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1959. She earned a bachelors degree in education from the University of North Dakota and was employed by the Grand Forks Public School System primarily as a fourth grade teacher at West Elementary until she retired in 2000 after 37 years of shaping young lives.

She greatly enjoyed socializing with family and friends at her Maple Lake cottage, spending time with her grandchildren and always had time to help those who needed a helping hand.

She is survived by her son, David (Jean) Bina, Comstock Park, MI, two grandchildren, John and Christine; her brother, Russell C. Chris Thompson, Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Services: 3:30 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2009, in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks.  Family Greeting: one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the Camp Shalom Legacy Fund, in care of United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St., Grand Forks.  Grand Forks Herald

Gary Uglem died Oct. 22, 2002 in Bagley, MN.  He was 61.  He was a retired professor of parasitology from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, published author and member of numerous professional societies.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed woodworking.  Gary married Erma Lobnitz in 1964.  She survives, along with a son and daughter, his mother; sisters Jolene Uglem Brosseau, C61; Laurie Uglem Schorey, R73; three grandchildren and others.  The Red Cent, December 2002)


Ginger Ann Ulseth
was born October 29, 1941, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Art and Helen (Rice) Ulseth.  She grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central in 1959. Ginger married David Gordon Allen December 26, 1958, at United Lutheran Church, in Grand Forks, North Dakota.  They moved to Fargo, North Dakota, in 1964.

Ginger worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, American Crystal Sugar Company and the North Dakota Barley Association. She was a past Professional Secretary of the Year. She moved to Grand Forks to care for her mother and worked for UND School of Medicine.   After the death of her mother, Ginger moved back to Fargo where she worked for MeritCare Hospital. In 1999, she moved to Sequim, Washington, and worked for Family Planning of Clallam County in Port Angeles, Washington.  Ginger moved to Ooltewah, Tennessee, in May of 2004.

Ginger raised her two daughters on her own and was so proud of their accomplishments.  The pride and joy of her life were her two grandchildren, Ashley and Luke Winzenburg.  She felt that her daughters each married the nicest guy in the world and referred to both Jim and Doug as her favorite son-in-law.  She spent the last two years living with her sister, Mitzi in Ooltewah, Tennessee.  Her niece, Hilde Croxall, was her angel on earth.  She took her to appointments, checked in on her, made lefse for her and loved her unconditionally.  We are forever grateful to our family in Tennessee for all they did and the love they showed Mom.  She will be missed so much by all who knew her and loved her.

Ginger died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in her home, at the age of 64. Ginger is survived by her two daughters, Jean (Doug) Clemens, West Fargo, ND; and Debbie (Jim) Winzenburg, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Ashley Jo "Cupcake" Winzenburg, Minneapolis, MN; and Lucas James "Sweetheart" Winzenburg, Fargo, ND; sister, Mitzi Croxall, Ooltewah, TN; brother, Jim (Dee) Ulseth, Pensacola, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews; family pets, Annie, Harvey, Chester, and Alley.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one niece, Laura; and former husband, David Allen.

Funeral Service:  Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 10 AM, at First Lutheran Celebration Center, Fargo, ND. Visitation:  One hour prior to the service at the center. Burial:  Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, North Dakota.


Coralie Ann "Corky" Ulteig Pagoria, 79, of Decatur, passed away March 19, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born to Lillian Ann Ulteig and Harvey Ulteig in Long Beach, California on August 22, 1941. She graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks, North Dakota and attended Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

After a long and successful career at BellSouth, Corky was able to retire and focus on her true passions: faith, family and friends. She worked at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur and devoted her time to serving the parish community. She was involved with many charitable causes but had a particular passion for Missionaries of the Poor and their dedication to serving the "poorest of the poor". Corky loved traveling with her dearest friends. She strolled Las Ramblas in Barcelona, made pasta in Italy and climbed the mountains of Peru. She arranged for the Botafumerio in the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral and hiked 5 national parks in Utah, enjoying and learning about the people and culture of all the places she visited. Her grandson Logan was the light of her life, and she never missed an opportunity to spend time and make memories with him that he will cherish forever.

Corky is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Pagoria Katz, son-in-law Steven Bryant Katz and grandson Logan Anthony Katz. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother, John Ulteig of New Orleans, Louisiana.
 
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Saturday, March 27 at 11 AM. The family requests donations be made to Missionaries of the Poor in lieu of flowers
